Hebridean Fine Food and Drink on show (Isle of Harris) December 2022

Chris & Nicola Loye, owners of Flavour Restaurant and Flavour Chocolate, hosted the Hebridean Fine Food & Drink Festival in the Tarbert Community Centre on Friday 2nd December 2022. It was one of the busiest and most popular events on the Taste Harris Calendar!

The Festival showcased some of the very best local food and drink producers in the Isle of Harris, in the Outer Hebrides. Locals and visitors were well spoiled by the array of irresistible food and drink on offer. As soon as I walked through the door of the Tarbert Community Centre, I was met with the alluring smells of delicious food and the happy sounds of a fun festive event in full swing.

I didn't manage to get round all the stalls, but these are some of our bonnie lads and lassies, I met.

  • Anna & Nick from Isle of Harris Brewery, with freshly brewed beer! Free beer tasting, it was too hard to resist, so I didn't! www.isleofharrisbrewery.com/

  • Kirsty from Oban Bay Bakes with some stunning bakery items and too many calories to count! I bought some millionaire shortcake to enjoy with a cuppa later... Yum! www.facebook.com/ObanBayBakesIsleofHarris/

  • Amanda from The Temple bringing in new exciting flavours of Wild Eve, Harris Liqueurs, Marmalde, baking (including Mince Pies & Heather Biscotti), hampers, freshly roasted coffee and tea! www.templeharris.com

  • Food and cooking demonstrations by Scotland Food & Drink Ambassador and talented chef, Chris Loye

  • The lovely Liz from Hebridean Hampers with local produce from Mustheb, Trout Hebrides, Morag's Tablet and Flavour Chocolate, a cornucopia of Hebridean deliciousness! info@hebrideanhampers.com

  • Sandy & Marie from Isle of Harris Gin, with some free Gin Punch tasting! Deeelicious!!! Excellent job girls!! https://harrisdistillery.com

  • Vicki from Resort Estates (Amhuinnsuidhe Castle) with fresh Isle of Harris venison ready to order and delivered to your door! www.reasortestates.co.uk

  • Morag from Morag's Tablet was very popular, with free taste testing. I could have scoffed the lot! www.facebook.com/MoragsTablet/

And, the great news is that we get to do it all again three time next year!

On 29th April 2023, Chirs & Nicola will host their first Hebridean Fine Food & Drink Festival, with celebrity chef and 2016 MasterChef Winner, Gary Maclean showing us how it's is done with cookery demonstrations and signing copies of his book.

See you there!!
