TASTE HARRIS
Welcome to the Taste Harris website. The Isle of Harris, in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, is better known for our expansive beaches, salmon-filled rivers and deer-strewn hills, a gastronomic adventure might not be the first thing that springs to mind when visiting our unique island.
However, lately in Harris, a small group of ambitious, passionate and independent food and drink producers have been creating a quiet food and drink revolution along the roads and in the villages of this wild Scottish Isle. They bring new and contemporary flavours to complement the traditional Harris fayre.
Whether you are on holiday, vacation, travelling, here on business or a local, you can be assured of the warm and generous hospitality of our Scottish Island. It is as intrinsic as the bottomless tin of scones that anyone who has ever had a Hearach friend or relative will know, appears on every visit and we would love you to experience a real "Taste of Harris".

Is there anything better than delicious, fresh-cooked seafood enjoyed in the salty air by the beach? How about a flavourful, hearty soup and warm buttery cheese scone waiting for you at the end of a walk to Rodel or a visit to St Clements Church? Arrive in Northton and savour the aroma of fresh-baked bread and pastries, warm and fragrant from the oven, filling the morning air.
Head along the rollercoaster road around the Bays to stumble across a cozy gallery cafe filled with delectable sweet treats and original art. And at the end of the day, is any Harris sunset really complete without the satisfying clink of a Harris Gin and tonic with ice?
