Our Story
We have run Horgabost Campsite since 2007 and were aware there was a gap in the market with a shortage of takeaway outlets in the Isle of Harris.
Lena has a 'foodie' background and ran a successful business supplying meals to self catering guests so we decided to look into catering trailers, found one to buy and renovate and it became Blas bhon Iar .
Although there are many catering trailers in Harris now, we were one of only two back in 2017 and we were unsure how things would work out.
Everything we sell is as far as possible home made with no additives and preservatives, the majority of our homemade food is gluten free and as far as possible we use local produce and suppliers.
We are very fortunate to have a lot of local support meaning we do not close down completely during the winter months.
We are situated at the entrance to Horgabost Campsite selling hot food, refreshments and ice cream. Please call next time you are passing!
