George Lavery is the owner and head chef of the multi award-winning restaurant North Harbour Bistro since 2014. With a wealth of experience gained throughout Europe, George boasts awards from a variety of accolades, including:

A short ten minute drive from Tarbert, Isle of Harris, and across the Scalpay Bridge to the Isle of Scalpay, you will find this unassuming restaurant happily situated on the North Pier, with views of the fishing boats and yachts on the marina.
George's passion is to offer seasonally, locally produced food, with his specialty in responsibly and sustainably caught sea food, including langoustines, lobster, crab and scallops, when available. Fresh fish from the Harbour in the Isle of Scalpay can include bream, monkfish and seabass. Hand dived scallops from Leverburgh in South Harris.
The menu caters for all tastes in addition to fish and seafood, also offering chicken, lamb, venison and steak, when available. The menu has options for vegetarians and vegans.
The blackboard details specials and extends the mouth-watering offerings.
The stunning dishes are a beautifully crafted riot of colour and a delight on the tongue. An extensive wine list, compliments the fine dining experience. There is also a fully stocked bar in addition to coffee and tea.
Enjoy the friendly and relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of the working harbour. Evening meals start from 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
