LUNCHTIME CAFE
Our Story
Andrew Harvey took over the running and management of Taobh an Uisge, Waterside Cafe in 2022. The cafe is open all year round, offering a lunchtime menu, take away, hot and cold food and drinks. This relaxed, cosy cafe is situated in the heart of Tarbert, just a stone's throw from the main car park.
Andrew says "My passion for food stems from a no nonsense approach to good healthy food, without trying to be too complex . I like to keep the menu fresh and it changes twice a week, so keep an eye on our Facebook Page for updates.
My vision for Taobh an Uisge, Waterside Cafe, is to be at the heart of the community, for locals and visitors to come and have a ‘Cruinnich’, especially during the winter months. We are staying open all winter, with reduced hours. We have a Knit and Natter group here on a Saturday afternoon which is great craic. We also offer the café space for smaller events or functions.
Blair is our coffee expert and a real asset to what we do. Our coffee has been described as the best on the island. We sell six different coffees to cater for different tastes. We use Inverness-roasted coffee beans from Columbia which are rich in flavour without being too bitter.
Tea is equally as important and we have a variety of herbal teas, specialty teas, breakfast teas, including good old Yorkshire Tea, no bias there!"
The cafe offers fresh, home-made gluten free soup every day. Hot filled rolls with a variety of hot fillings. Sandwiches, toasties, paninis, quiche, haggis pakora, black pudding pies and pastries.
For those with a sweet tooth, indulgent and decadent tray bakes, cakes and scones with jam and clotted cream. Fresh, aromatic ground coffee, an assortment of teas, hot and cold drinks to wash it all down.
The Waterside Cafe has seating inside, with benches and dog friendly seating outside.
The Waterside Cafe is open in the winter months from 11am to 3pm, and 11am to 4.30pm in the summer months on:
Monday
Tuesday
Thursday
Friday
