Our Story
Originally from Scalpay, like many young people from the islands, I left for a few years but returned home 4 years ago in September with my husband Richard, to be nearer family.
I decided to try and sell some of my baking from an honesty box and also stocked some bakes at Brownies in Tarbert. All my bakes are traditional and my recipes have been handed down to me from my Mam, Rachel and the others are from my dear aunties. Even my Dad, Donald Macsween got in on the act by coming up with the name “Island Dainties”.
Last year we upsized to a wee shed / cabin so pop along and give us a visit. Just ring the bell and I will come out to serve you soup, pies, home baking, tray bakes, tea, coffee, confectionery and ice cream.
We’ve even got some picnic benches available so you can soak up the Scaplay sunshine with a snack.
